Mitch Brisker is the Senior Director and creative executive with Golden Era Productions. He became a Scientologist in the 1970s when he was a student studying cinema, and has been involved with Golden Era since 1990. He is an award-winning director of commercials for such clients as Sony and TRW. Mitch refutes Ron Miscavige’s claim in his book and in interviews that Mr. Miscavige sets unreasonable deadlines for the Golden Era staff. “Gold is a very organized—I mean this place runs, it runs like clockwork. I mean it’s extremely well organized. They have a lot of dedicated energized people. They have the very best equipment and this deadline thing is like yeah, you’re gonna have deadlines. If you don’t wanna have deadlines, go get a nine to five job, you know. It’s like it’s simple. It’s like everybody knows that. We used to joke about it on commercials. Like there’s just some people, you know, they’re never gonna make it into the higher echelons of creative positions and they’re not going to be creative directors or film directors or writers—they’re not.”
